The NGO Gabon Terre d’Avenir (GTA), through its flagship project Ndossi Village, had the honor of supporting the opening of the Mighoma Cultural Center (CCM) in Akanda. This initiative, led by artist and senator Annie-Flore Batchiellilys, marks an important milestone in promoting Gabonese culture and providing quality spaces for artistic expression.

During this memorable event, Dr. Yoan Mboussou, president of GTA, addressed the audience to reaffirm his deep commitment to Gabonese culture. He expressed his desire to see collaborations flourish between Ndossi Village and the CCM, notably by offering unique musical instruments created through a partnership with Mr. Karl Moussavou, who is developing an innovative project in collaboration with the Montpellier School of Music. This gesture highlights the importance of fostering cultural exchange and showcasing local musical expertise.

The First Performance of L’Escoute: A Unique Moment

The event also marked a significant milestone for the musical group L’Escoute, which gave its first performance outside Ndossi Village. Supported by GTA, this fusion group stands out for its bold blend of traditional Gabonese rhythms, sounds from the mougongo (a symbolic musical bow), and modern textures created with a synthesizer. Their performance captivated the audience, showcasing the incredible richness and innovation of Gabonese music.

A Collaboration for Gabonese Cultural Heritage

The opening of the Mighoma Cultural Center symbolizes a shared commitment to preserving and promoting Gabon’s artistic traditions while encouraging contemporary expressions. Thanks to the involvement of key players like GTA, Ndossi Village, and local talents such as those of L’Escoute, the CCM is set to become a pivotal space for celebrating the diversity and originality of Gabonese culture.

GTA remains convinced that cultural development is a vital key to societal progress and continues to multiply initiatives in this direction. We warmly congratulate Annie-Flore Batchiellilys on this remarkable achievement and look forward to future collaborations.
