From the oil industry to the preservation of Gabonese heritage in the heart of the mangroves
Mr. Patrick Odouasso Houenou, born October 19, 1977 in Port-Gentil in the province of Ogooué Maritime, Gabon, inherited a deep passion for nature from his childhood, inspired by his family and his grandparents, originally of the Ogooué River. This intimate connection with Gabonese flora and fauna has shaped his worldview and his professional career.
After studying abroad, Patrick began his career in the oil sector in the early 2000s. He held various roles, including logistics agent, category AM1 works supervisor and technical secretary. Despite his immersion in the professional world, his love for the true values of Gabonese heritage, particularly the flora and fauna, remained unwavering, a legacy passed down from his grandparents.
With a self-taught approach, he also ventured into the fishing profession, becoming a seasoned maritime pilot and tour guide. These passions, which drive him deeply, are now at the heart of his commitments.
Currently, as an administrative agent in the Gabonese Senate, Patrick continues to devote himself to issues related to cultural heritage. His diverse career reflects a continuing commitment to the preservation and promotion of Gabon's natural and cultural treasures.
As administrator of the Wakanda Nautique Club in Ndossi village, Patrick shares his passion for wakeboarding with many tourists. His dedication to this activity reflects his commitment to the development of tourism and the enhancement of the natural and cultural wealth of the region.
